- Merv 13 efficiency rated furnace filters and AC filters can clean your home's air of pet dander, microscopic allergens, virus carriers, pollen, household dust, cigarette smoke, mold spores and more. Electrostatic HVAC filters are different than regular home air filters. Negative and positive charges in the filter fibers attract dust and other airborne particles. This helps keep your home's air cleaner and safer for you and your family's long-term health. The EPA has named Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) as one of the top 5 environmental health risks. Today, people spend almost 90% of their time indoors exposed to air contaminants such as household cleaning products, pet dander, secondhand smoke, mold and more. Change your home air filters regularly to avoid temporary discomfort and the long-term health effects of breathing dirty air.

APR vs MERV
APR
APR stands for Accumulair Performance Rating. This rating has been established by the manufacturer of the Accumulair Filters. This rating exists to demonstrate the different levels of efficiency throughout the Accumulair filter line. Generally speaking, the higher the APR, the better the filter performs in capturing small airborne particles. This rating system is an internal rating system and applies to Accumulair filters only.
MERV
MERV stands for Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value. It is a number from a test method designed by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). The number is intended to help people compare filters. Generally speaking, a higher MERV rating indicates better filter performance.
